Josh reported last week that almost 50 percent of Americans would like to be living somewhere other than they are now. Americans are evenly split between being happy where they are now and getting out of Dodge. On the other hand, two-thirds of Americans are still living in their home state, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. New York and Louisiana top the list of native born residents, both with 82 percent. At the bottom of the list, Nevada counts only 27.8 percent of residents as natives. Retirement states Arizona and Florida, as well as rugged Alaska, show up in the low 40s. The U.S. average is 67.3 percent.
Hoosiers tend to like their home state: 71.4 percent of Indiana residents are natives.
“…according to the Census Bureau…” will soon have no real meaning other than a political one.
Are these numbers are not corrected for growth? High growth states, like Nevada, could have 100% of people born staying but still be low on the list.

Come now AnonLeon, do you have something substantive (and original) to back up the snark?
