Simply Amazing

I occasionally tune in to America's Got Talent or American Idol, but for the most part these shows are a depressing reminder that "talent" and "art" are relative terms whose mainstream meaning can differ from my own. On Saturday, however, a humble Welshman named Paul Potts appeared on Britain's Got Talent and changed everything.

Great catch!
I blogged it in the "pearls before swine" department. Some turkey just left a comment at You Tube "gotta love that british dental work"
Pretty tacky.
But with over sixteen hundred comments and nearly half a million views he's making a mark.
Very impressive.

I hear you. I'm not a regular Idol watcher, but have gone back and watched several song performances of Idol contestants after reading their inspirational stories in Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul. These stories share the singers lives in their own words and sometimes in the words of someone else. It just brings so much humanity to the competition and shows that the singers are real people.
