The Memorial is a sober reminder that the most destructive ideology of the bloody 20th Century far outstripped its shorter-lived rival, fascism. It is even more sobering to realize, as the Victims of Communism Foundation notes, that the destruction continues. Posted by Zach Wendling at June 12, 2007 11:58 PM CommentsAn interesting thing to note may be that depending on how one actually decides to count the casualties from the 2nd world war and how reliable the estimates are, the casualties may not be that far off.
