Tomorrow I Dine with Rove
Tomorrow evening I'll be having dinner with chief White House strategist Karl Rove, along with numorous other politicos hoping to rub shoulders with one of the nation's most intriguing public figures. Should I get the chance to speak with Mr. Rove - which is no guarantee - what should I ask? The aim is three-fold: (1) gain unique insight, (2) make an impression, and (3) be respectful. Suggestions welcomed.

Three possibilities: What advice would you offer Republian presidential candidates for 2008? Any preferences regarding nominee?
If I were to disregard no. 3, I'd ask Rove: Is it still a safe strategy to try to win elections by appealing to the right, or do you think that the courting the center is a better bet as the pendulum swings left?

I'd ask him if he still thinks that it was a good idea to use political hacks to intentionally suffocate the career civil service.

As him why they invaded the wrong country. And why hundreds of thousands are dead as a result of their mistake.

I'd ask him who he thought were the young stars of the GOP. Is there anyone on the state level he has his eye on?
Then I'd ask him to bust some rhymes, yo.

I'm just wondering why you'd want to ask him anything at all.

Ask to see the contract he signed with the devil. That should make interesting reading.

As him why he didn't show.

I'm late to this, but I'd ask him how the Republicans can become the party of spending control once again.
