Given recently enacted Russian rules which require at least 50% of all Russian News Service reports be positive, one wonders: how will the death of Yeltsin fit in? Yeltsin was a deeply unpopular figure in Russia, but by all accounts Putin and Yeltsin remained on amicable terms. Even in an authoritarian regime such as Russia's, one would hope a genuine sadness permeates government over the loss of such a unique national leader.
