A Bears fan by any other name…

Chicago Bears fan Scott Wiese of Forsyth, Illinois made a bet that he’d change his name to Peyton Manning if the Colts won the Super Bowl. A man of his word, he’s going through with the bet.
What I want to know is, what was the payoff if the Bears won?

The payoff? Would he have needed one? The sky would have been bluer, the air wouldn’t have been as cold, the days would have been that much sweeter, and order would have been restored.

Cars would have been flipped, windows smashed, trash cans ablaze.
Those folks know how to party.

That sounds like the scene in Bloomington, circa Little 500 1992 or Final Four weekend 2002.

That sounds like the scene in Bloomington . . . Final Four weekend 2002.
Or College Park the same weekend. I had forgotten my guys played your guys that year.

I dont know about 1992, but weekend during the 2002 Final Four was nothing more than an overcrowded street with some overzealous police. I have seen more pushing and shoving at a Green Day concert.
I recall being mocked by representatives of other schools at Big Ten conferences for IU’s so called “inability to riot”. Somehow I never felt I was missing out.
