« There Are No Small People | Main | A Clean Sweep for the Dems? » November 02, 2006Not quite Guy Fawkes, but...In a surprising move, Queen Elizabeth has attempted to "thaw relations" between the English royal family and Rome. Apparently, in a letter to Lord Nicholas Windsor, the Queen stated she was "delighted" and "very pleased" about his up-coming wedding. The queen also gave permission to Lord Windsor to marry at the Vatican, which will be a first for English royalty in 400 years. It was quite a moment in 1994 when Nicholas Windsor's mother, the Duchess of Kent, converted to Catholicism. The real question is what the queen and Parliament will do with the Act of Settlement.
