Tooting my own horn

The list of successful 2006 Indiana bar exam applicants has been released. Yours truly was on that list. Following a ceremony on October 20th, I'll be a bona fide attorney.

Update: I like how one person described it:

Isn't that a weird feeling? I wasn't even happy; I was just relieved. It was like "Oh, I didn't have a total disaster today, that's nice."

I mean, you're SUPPOSED to pass -- you spend all that money on law school and BarBri -- how could you explain not passing?

Way to go! The day after I took the exam I was positive I passed. After waiting far into November, a few doubts crept in. On judgment day, I was more than relieved, I was ecstatic.

Congratulations, Josh. What specialty are you entering?

I plan to sue Purdue grads and students.

In all seriousness, I'm in corporate law, with a focus on health law concerns. In other words, the corporate concerns of physician groups (as opposed to the malpractice side of it).

In other words you're going to work hard to make really rich people a lot richer. Nice!

That isn't quite right, so I assume that Phil's comment is intended as some kind of banter.

To Josh, and to ITA readers who also passed, congratulations.

It was indeed banter; Josh will know what I'm talking about in a year or so, hopefully.

Josh,

What drew you to that legal specialty? How many hours a week do you expect to put into the legal practice? Have you have selected an area of pro bono work, or will there be time for that at this stage in the practice?

Also, did three years of law school change your perceptions about anything related to the law field?

Would you like me to quit askimg you questions?
