PostSecret

Every so often I check in on PostSecret, a fascinating blog that, in their words, "is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard." I liked this recent one in particular.

Your second link doesn't seem to be working.

Hmmm, works for me. Anyone else experiencing Jason's problems?

You're right Jason, it doesn't work and I think it's because the site operators keep banning my links each time I link to it for bandwidth purposes.

At any rate, it's the card which reads, "I tell my boss I forgot to shave . . .

. . . but really it makes me feel more like a writer and less like a marketing executive."

PostSecret is one of my favorite sites on the web. For me, it's not about the secrets though, it's about the postcard art of it. My wife and I both collect postal art, we have a postcard rack full of postcards and handmade postcards sent from friends. One of my favorites is a large postcard-sized piece of crumply clear cellophane with just our names and address in red and a stamp. Another didn't even fit in our apartment lobby post box, so our postman delivered it to our door personally: it was a big (around 12") bright orange on both sides cardboard triangle with a smaller white triangle in the middle of both sides saying "EASY TO MAKE" with a tag with our address attached to it by wire. I suspect the people at the post office get a real kick out of some of them.

If your interested Josh, one of the greatest pacticioners ever of "postal art" was Ray Johnson. Google his name and "How to Draw a Bunny" to see some of it online.
