Ugh
It's hard to take this AFP (Agence France-Presse, and yes that's French) story seriously when it references the "Book of Revelations." No such book exists, at least in the Christian Bible. It's "Book of Revelation," and has no "s".

Could just be a translation problem, n'est-ce pas? Anyway, I'd say a good half of Christians probably think it's "Revelations". Much more interesting from that article:
We believe that the plans the enemy has for this date (June 6, 2006) will be destroyed through violent worship and praise. We are inviting the entire world to be part of this huge unity project
Violent worship?

Did everybody go nuts like this on June 6, 1906? Or 1806 for that matter? And I also get irritated when I hear people speak of Revelations sticking an S on the end. I'm usualy not that picky when it comes to diction or word pronounciation. After all, I'm from Texas and we love to destroy the English language. However, I've noticed that the people who speak of Revelation (without the S) also say very little about the book. It's as though they recognize the vastness of it's wisdom and respectfully fear to get into it. But at least they know how to pronounce it without an S. Those who tend to 'know all about it' seem to also be the ones who always attach an S on the end. I think David Koresh was one of those people who knew all about the book of RevelationS. The main reason though for leaving off the S is because the book is about a single revelation, not many.
