Surprisingly, Blogger is Nowhere to be Found
PC World has published a list of the top 25 worst tech products of all time. While that company from Redmond is well represented, it failed to take the top spot.
Ok, fess up time. Who out there bought Microsoft Bob?

No "worst tech products" list is complete without Word Perfect for DOS. CLUMSIEST WORD PROCESSOR EVER. I hated having to reopen and reedit files in order to get the line breaks in all the right spots. Never had that problem with WordStar, its contemporary rival.

Bill Gates himself bought a few copies. Otherwise his wife and Microsoft Bob project manager Melinda Gates might not have been happy with him.

I don't know whether to feel smug because I didn't buy/use any of those products (at least, not intentionally - work computers are outside my control), or completely out of the loop for not knowing what half of them were..... I think the second is more likely!
However, YIKES! for the list itself! I did not see any Linux-related items on the list. Hm.

That’s because Linux hasn’t been the basis for any monumental failures. Nor should it be in the position to take the blame in such a case that a vendor tries to bind Linux to a product. After all, it is free.
As a home operating system it leaves something to be desired in terms of usability, in the current instances where Linux has been chosen to run a product they have generally been very well received.
For instance, TiVo runs a Linux OS.

That's going to be my next OS. My brother said he can load it for me so that all I have to do is sign on and go, and I think I'm going to take him up on it. (Sigh!) Microsoft really IS the evil empire.
