Porkbusters to the rescue
Senators Tom Coburn and John McCain are getting serious about Congressional pork. The pair sent a stern letter to every U.S. senator explaining that they would challenge each and every pork project, as well as oppose the inclusion in conference reports of any earmarks that did not pass either the House or Senate. You can read the full letter here (pdf). Here is a link to an explanation of the letter from Senate staff.

Not sure McCain is too serious about it:

Hmmm. These two probably speak to Senator Frist almost daily. So why do you think they made this bold, daring, courageous declaration via a letter, which was conveniently and immediately released to the press?

I left out a letter in the URL in my previous comment, and it leads to some strange pop up site that has nothing to do with me. The one below is corrected.

One man's pork is another man's job (and that man's vote).
So long as Congress can allocate money, there will be money allocated to Congressional districts. Almost sounds stupid when you put it that way.
