World Mag Gets the Scoop

The World Magazine Blog is generally a good read for the conservative Christian perspective, but their coverage of Harriet Miers has gone above and beyond the call of duty. In a splendid series of seven posts, Texan Marvin Olasky offers the pros and cons of Miers as a pick based on interviews of those incredibly close to Ms. Miers. Pro: part one, part two, part three, part four, and part five. The anti-view. And, finally, her pastor’s view. Nothing I’ve read thus far has offered more insight into the nominee’s position on abortion. I highly recommend these posts both for their content, but also for their comments, which offer insight into the feelings of many Christian conservatives.
Meanwhile David Frum serves up a compelling column claiming the Miers nomination is an “unforced error.” There are also transcripts of three “Ask the White House” online chats (here, here, and here) in which Harriet Miers participated.
Update: Orin Kerr offers several strong responses from prominent conservatives.
