If you&#039;d read the article you&#039;d realize that Rush isn’t offering a positive view of Bush or the Miers confirmation (indeed he has expressed skepticism of Miers). Instead he&#039;s arguing that debate over the nomination is a healthy thing for conservatives to engage in.

A just war and a modest tax cut don&#039;t make up for overspending and the gutlessness regarding a judicial filibuster that should have been nuked in the previous term. The right is largely nervous about Roberts, despite the leftist apoplexy over his nomination. Now another uncertain SCOTUS nomination has been dished out, and a lot of conservatives feel that Bush is gambling recklessly with the Supreme Court, prioritizing ability to get past the Dems over Constitutional muster. They want the political appeasement over judicial nominations to stop once and for all.
