Indiana State Fair 2005

I'm a huge fan of the State Fair, and I managed to make it twice this year. No, I didn't see the wedding, watch the marching bands, or try this summer's novelty food item (deep fried peanut butter cups). But I did take lots of pictures. You can see my photo album, prepared especially for In The Agora, here.

Great pics; I'm glad you posted them. My daughter and I made it out to the fair this year - barely - on the last day. In her 14 years we've only twice not gotten an 8X10 black and white photo together at the photo place near the cattle barn. We were successful with the picture this year, but not much else.

We hopped aboard the shuttle for a ride around the grounds, only to be shooed off because the lady couldn't make change out of my $5 bill for the 50 cents a piece fare.
By then, my daughter was feeling sick so we collected our annual picture and headed home. Hopefully we'll get to enjoy the fair more fully next year. If nothing else, the people watching is spectacular.

You really missed out on the deep-fried Reeses' cups. They put them in the freezer and then straight into the oil, so the chocolate is melted but the peanut butter isn't. Exquisite.

Excuse me now while I go listen to my arteries harden.

I finally got around to viewing these. Good photos, but better captions! Worthy of Lileks.
