Bayh on 2008

In New Hampshire, Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) talked “like someone very interested in seeking the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination,” touting his “attributes as a moderate Democrat from a Midwestern state that went big red for Bush in 2004,” the Nashua Telegraph reports. According to Bayh the key battleground for the 2008 election will be in Midwestern states like Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri.
Update: Matthew Tully is not impressed.

I wouldn’t hate Bayh as President, but as a campaigner, he strikes me as a bland Al Gore.

  2. Scof Scof says:

He’s much more palpable than of course Hillary is, and unlike Tully I don’t mind his efforts to try hard to get his message out. His language will get better.

  3. Chuck Chuck says:

Moderation anchored to principle is the recipe for success in the affairs of state. Bayh, and many “new” Democrats, don’t seem to grasp this, preferring the adrift lifestyle of jellyfish.
