Today is Valentine’s Day, better known to some as “Singles Awareness Day” (SAD), which leads to the typical complaining and griping. “It’s just a conspiracy by Hallmark.” “I’m single” Blah blah blah. I’m not interested in addressing or repeating the tired complaints. But I am willing to point to the (in)famous Ladder Theory, a theory of adult male/female interaction, which can help explain a lot of things. The language is over-the-top, and it’s not a family-friendly site, but beyond that it may be of interest.
For an even more cynical look at Valentine’s Day watch Don Hertzfeldt’s “Ah, L’Amour,” winner of the “World’s Funniest Cartoon” at the World Animation Celebration/ U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 1998.
