Foreign Law in US Courts

Justices Scalia and Breyer will debate the use of foreign law in U.S. courts at American University Law School in Washington, D.C., this Thursday, Jan. 13, 4-5:30 pm EST. You should be able to find a button under videoconferencing here, which when the event begins will take you directly into CSPAN's live feed (CSPAN will be broadcasting the event). The event will also be archived on video, and a transcript will be published in PDF, on the school's website. Aside from Scalia's own opinions, Judge Posner has been at the forefront of this debate, as Musgrave wrote about on these pages before. Here's a guest blog post by Posner about the practice of citing foreign courts.
